Canadian Open 2025
Tough conditions for Anna Schneeberger!
This year, the Canadian Open G2 is taking place in cold Montreal. Temperatures of -14 to -20 degrees Celsius are not exactly conducive to fast movements.
Due to our late arrival – Thursday evening and the tournament already on Friday – our legs felt more like rubber than they did crisp. In addition, our first match took place well after midnight our time, which didn't exactly boost our momentum.
My head and body weren't always on the same page, which led to a few technical errors that weren't planned. But with such strong competition, there's little room for error.
Nevertheless, with a 9th place finish, a spot in the top 10 out of 48 starters from 14 nations was secured, along with the important points for the world rankings – mission accomplished.
The next two days will be used for training. On Tuesday, the team will travel to Reno, USA, where the US Open G2 will take place. By then, the time difference should have been adjusted enough to perform accordingly. It remains exciting.
